After a hiatus of two years we are thrilled to once again be operating from our old shop at 29 St. James's Street. The shop has been expanded with a larger entrance and another window giving us a much greater presence on the street. The old Victorian pharmacy furniture has all been carefully stored during our absence and has been re-installed in such a way that the right-hand side of the shop... more
A relatively new product of the week this week with Eucalyptus Shaving Cream. This was added to our shaving range in 2013 and has certainly been a welcome addition. The clean, medicinal scent of Eucalyptus and menthol is certainly envigorating for a morning shave, particularly in the summer months. The menthol gives a lovely fresh tingling feeling and the glycerin ensures a... more
This week's selection for product of the week is another classic product: Lavender Soap. Fragranced with Old English Lavender, this is a truly classic bath-time staple. This is not an overly-floral lavender and is strong on spicy notes with a hint of rosemary which makes this an ideal choice for men and women alike.
Made in the UK and triple-milled, this is a high quality and long... more
Following in a similar vein from last week's selection of Moisture Cream, is another skincare product and a true D. R. Harris stalwart, Milk of Cucumber and Roses. This is one of our very oldest products, and whilst our archives are sadly quite scarce, we have found mentions of this going back over 125 years.
Whilst the fresh combination of cucumbers and roses has always been present, the... more
The importance of moisturising is not to be underestimated. Whether to extend the life of a tan in the summer or to keep the ravages of a cold British winter at arms length it is a year-round necessity. Using a good moisturiser on a regular basis not only makes the skin look better and more youthful, but can also make it feel much better.
D. R. Harris Moisture Cream is unscented, rich enough... more
Everybody knows you’re supposed to wash your face, but using normal hand or bath soaps could do more harm than good. The face has a slightly different balance of natural oils to the rest of the body and therefore requires a gentler, specifically designed soap or wash.
It is not recommended to wash the face every day as you don’t want to lose the natural oils and dry your skin too much, but... more
We're pleased to be able to share with you an initial sketch of what our new shop will look like when we return to 29 St. James's Street. At the moment, we are hoping to be in by the middle of September with the shop-fit starting in July. As our shop-fitters keep reminding us, this is not a normal fit out with brand new custom-made furniture as we have so much of our original, Victorian pharmacy... more
Towards the end of last year we introduced loyalty cards that can be used in our shops. Following the same model as a coffe shop's card, this generous little incentive has been a big hit.
For every £25 you spend we will give you a stamp, once you have 7 stamps you will have £25 free money to go on D. R. Harris goods on your next visit. What's more you can earn more than one stamp per visit:... more
We are very proud to have been global partners with British Polo Day since the first event of this year, in Abu Dhabi. British Polo Day put on 10 fantastic events around the world every year, showcasing the best of British through the medium of Polo and raising large amounts of money for charity while they’re at it. Last weekend saw the British leg take place at the Black Bears Polo Ground... more
As many will be aware, the latter half of 2013 involved some big changes for us and our local, regular customers. We have had to move from our main shop on 29 St. James’s Street for a period of 18 months while the whole building is refurbished. Our pharmacy is now located just around the corner at 35 Bury Street and is supported by our small shop at 52 Piccadilly which specialises in D. R.... more
We firmly believe that introducing a shaving brush into your daily shaving routine is one of the easiest ways to exponentially increase your enjoyment of a daily necessity. It is probably fair to say that in the world of grooming and beauty products, differences in performance will always be fairly marginal. However, a good shaving brush, in conjunction with high quality soap or cream,... more

We were delighted to attend the Coronation Festival in the gardens of Buckingham Palace from 11-14 July. The event was a great success and we were blessed with incredible weather.
The Festival, a truly unique one-off to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, was organised by the Royal Warrant Holders Association and exhibited the excellent products and services that... more
